Naomi and Luke were just two strangers living in the Hutt Valley with an incestuous amount of mutual friends until one day Luke approached Naomi via bebo wall comment and they bonded over music.
"All my friends like bad music", they cried in unison.
"Nobody knows who of Montreal are", their 15-year-old-selves screamed.
"I'm underage for this upcoming rad gig", they frequently despaired.
The two met for the first time in real life at the first ever Homegrown festival in Wellington. Naomi had an awkward hairstyle and Luke thought The Checks were cool.

This started a tradition of festival companionship which has proven vital for both parties. As anonymity is not a cheap ploy used by this blog to spur reader interest, I am providing you with a platter of past photographs.

We both wore wayfarers, Naomi was way too excited and Luke was chill.

Here we are again the night before Big Day Out 2010 when we went to a gig in tunnels and hung out with Farris Rotter:

After the friendship grew to mutant giant vegetable level (as a result of a neverending conversation started back in 2007), their loyalties were tested as Naomi moved to Auckland and Luke stayed in Wellington. Nothing actually changed though because they didn't have much face-to-face interaction beforehand, it seemed virtual communication was enough.
One day Naomi decided to combine a few of her interests and start a blog that was not tacky and lame and cliche, but would instead go on to do great things.
After a few months of infrequent, amateur publishing she realised Luke should definitely contribute to the bible of cool because he covers a lot of different bases and can also keep sorted on the Wellington gig scene which he has yet to actually do. Currently the posting is still infrequent but the team here at Underdead now consider the quality of writing "readable".
