While I have been obsessing over Bombay Bicycle Club for about two years now (see: mid-5th form when I ran down the halls yelling 'YELLOWCARD AREN'T MY FAVOURITE BAND ANYMORE'), I have of late been distracted by other frivolous musique.
There's the entire Mumford & Sons/Johnny Flynn/Noah and the Whale/Laura Marling saga,
The surging interest in drum n' bass,
Even that increase in admiration for bands like HEALTH.
But this summer has brought many reasons for BBC to be frontwave once more.
A friend of mine has ordered 'something secret' from their merchandise as my birthday present,
I met a boy who looks like the offspring of Jack Steadman + Mr Suave,
I've misplaced my "I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose" CD (can't imagine it out in the cold somewhere, all alone, like what happened to my virtupet or whatever came before Tamagotchis,
And my discovery of the Always Like This single remixes being hella decent.
Go on, dig this Pariah remix.
It gets way Crystal Castles at one point.
Satisfied?
How about a non-le-feature sample for your iToonz?
And thusly, we welcome the new year.
